2022-2023 President-Elect, James Fowler, Co-Presidents Laura & Tom Uslan, and Past President Jan LeRoy
Another Rotary year goes into the club history books as the Rotary Club of Walnut Grove gathered to Celebrate outgoing President, Jan LeRoy and Welcome incoming Co-Presidents, Tom and Laura Uslan.  Tom and Laura rang the Bell and immediately made club history as the first ever, club Co-Presidents.  These two are a mighty duo and will bring so much into our next year.  In a move that obviously was rehearsed....the Co-Presidents had a backpack and zip tie all ready to stow away the Bell and Gavel.

The dinning room at Wimpy's Cafe was full.  Over 50 members and their guests dined and enjoyed an evening of well deserved peer acknowledgments.

Passing the Gavel and Bell....

CLOSED!  As a Realtor, this is a word President Jan is accustomed to hearing.  After a year of nurturing her 2021-2022 Presidential Year, Jan has properly presented the Bell and Gavel to Co-Presidents Elect - Laura and Tom Uslan.  The Bell rang, 2021-2022 is CLOSED.

Across the Delta waters, the sunset in the distance, good food and beverage was consumed, and recognition throughout the membership was top topic.

In a magical manor, President Jan shifted the attention of our usual Demotion Roast over to Bill, the Magician.  Heads were rolling, doves were flying, and everything but the Bell disappeared.

Honorary member and Supervisor Don Nottoli presented a handful of special acknowledgements.

Thank you President Jan for sharing your quick whit, personal attention to every member or guest, and your Service above Self.  Our club membership is even more accomplished under your leadership.
President-Elect 2022-2023
Congratulations to James Fowler, President -Elect for 2022-2023

Lifetime Achievement Award, Rotary Club of Walnut Grove
With 64 years, Dennis Leary is a very special Rotarian of our club. His father was an original founding member of our club but he outdid his father by having devoted 64 years of his life to the club and the community. For his service, both the Sacramento County and the club showered him with recognitions and awards.
Rotarian of the Year 2021-2022
Barb McGowan, Our Rotarian of the year is being showered multi awards. Lunches, websites, or information, she always delivers when the needs arise.
Scholarship Chair
Since 2013 club member, Dave Stirling, has been chairing this committee in the selection of scholarships recipients for our Youth Scholarship Program.  Dave has devoted hours of his time year after year reading each and every applicants essay, interviewing, and being a grand mentor for our students.  His announced retirement from the position is bittersweet.
Program Director
For multiple years, Kim Tranum has kept our Monday meeting program alive.  For over 30 weeks a year, she manages our guest speakers.  This is a well deserved recognition. Thank you Kimmie!
RYLA Chair
Thom Wiseman, our chairman of RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards). The program changed so many youth's perspectives for life and Thom tirelessly led the program every year.

"Life Changing Experience" said by each Student.
Lunch Hero
Community member extraordinaire, Carol Cook.  She picks up our lunch boxes most meetings.  We would starve without Carol.
Dinner Emcee, and Club Service
John Stutz brings life to any celebration.  He organized our dinner, keep the evening flowing, and allowed Bill, the magician to take his head off in a guillotine.  Thank you for a wonderful evening John!
Club Greeter and Casino Hostess
By definition, a Casino Hostess maintains a relationship with big players to keep them coming back.  Nobody does this better than Gail Morris.  With her big smile and jar full of raffle tickets she makes everyone feel welcome.  Thank you Gail for the big smile every meeting.  Well deserved recognition and Greeter lanyard.
Outstanding Record Keeping
Rob Globus receives recognitions from County Supervisor Don Nottoli.  Rob stepped in and became our club Secretary.  Thank you Rob!
Most Paid Fines
Not quite sure the full story behind the 'trophy' of this award.  But, rest assured, Rotarians are always  moved over the recognition.  This year, Rob Globus, took the honors for the Most Paid Fines.
Recognition Award
Diana Perham is a special Rotarian of our club. Supervisor Nottoli gave a great recognition that she deserved.  Our Rotary club is very fortunate to have Diana.
Recognition Award
Danny Salazar as the Sergeant-at-Arms does the best job at collecting our club fines.

Just like the song, Money Money Moneeeey, Treasurer Mark Rogerson, "We have money", is music to our ears.  Or as one song says, "there'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done”.  Thank you Mark$$$
Recognition Award
James Fowler to the rescue.  Mid-way through, James jumped in and wrangled our Speech Contestants and did a spectacular job mentoring our club winner to the next level.  Thank you James very much!
Date Night Couple
Strangely enough, The Date Night Couple from last year was spotted again.  Photo bombing!  This poor couple made dinner reservations for date night to escape their 2 young children.  Only to be surprised by Rotary.  Just kidding, it's Matt and Hope Brown.
Ring That Bell!

President Jan rings the Bell at her final Rotary meeting in her year of service.

President Jan proudly shows off her Rotary bell. Prudently she managed to keep it safely under her custody throughout the Rotary year, just like she resourcefully led a successful Rotary year. Thank you for your leadership. June 20, 2022.

Thank you Madame President!
Jan LeRoy 2021-2022
Paul Harris Recipient
Congratulations to Larry Gorham for receiving a Paul Harris Fellowship Award.  This highest honor bestowed on a Rotarian acknowledges Rotary service extraordinaire.

This year Larry was recognized for his dedication to our new members, interfacing with the multitude of people and businesses, collecting items for our fundraising auction, and always making sure there is ice tea at lunch.
