The 2022 committee chair, John Stutz, has opened the 2022 Auction.
The plans are underway to make 2022 a successful auction year.  Let's work together and support Rotary.

If you registered last year, do not need to register again.  Your User ID and Password are still valid. 

Mark the following dates on your calendar and join the Rotary Club of Walnut Grove fundraise to Serve our Walnut Grove Community.  

  1. Auction Items are now being accepted.  Committee member Larry Gorham is in charge of collecting the auction items.  Larry can be reached at lgorham5@frontiernet.net.
  2. Auction Opens and goes live: Friday 2/11/2022
  3. Auction Closes and is finished: Saturday 2/26/2022 – On Zoom!

Remember, this annual event is the only organized fundraiser for the year and we continue to fund
amazing and numerous projects throughout the community.  Let's match or beat the 2021 event.

Last Year, Thanks to your generosity, as well as others outside of our club, we raised over $35,000.00.  The use of those funds for the many projects we sponsored made a big impact on our community.

  • Auction Item deadline is closely approaching.  Have you made your donation?  We publish a catalog of the silent auction items that is electronically distributed the beginning of February 2022.  It would be wonderful to include your items and achieve its highest bid offer.

  • Auction Opens and goes live: Friday 2/11/2022 - It is NOW LIVE

  • Auction Grand Finale on Zoom: Saturday 2/26/2022 at 6:00 PM

  • Auction Closes and is finished: Saturday 2/26/2022 at 7:30 PM

  • OF SPECIAL NOTE:  If you have a condo or timeshare not being used, please donate it.  These are extremely popular.  If you have concerns with strangers being in your homes, the item can be limited to club members or their personal referral.

In past years, 2016-2021, this auction has enabled our Club to grant thousands of dollars in scholarships - nearly $75,000 in these past few years alone and over $575,000 from the inception of the auction program. Some of these scholarships were helping students become the first in their families to attend college.

In no particular order, Rotary has also sponsored:
  • Delta High School student to participate in RYLA - a life-changing Leadership program.
  • Sponsored $1,500 towards local Jr FireFighter camp.
  • Provided $8,000 to the Walnut Grove Community Church for the purchase and installation of a new HVAC system for our elders to have a safe zone during extra cold or hot days.
  • Helped purchase and install new picnic tables for the Dr. Paul Barnes Community Park.
  • Contributed $10,000 towards refinishing the splendid and original hardwood floors of the Jean Harvie Community Center where many of those in the community taught or went to school.
  • In those same years, our Club, in conjunction with many, helped at the DEV or Delta Education Vineyard where students managed 2 acres of vineyard.
  • Most recently, the Rotary Club of Walnut Grove succeeded in having a Chrome Book for each student at our elementary school and started working on the same idea for second school.
  • With virtual and distant learning, we have financed 11 hotspots located throughout the community so our students can access the internet for learning.
  • On the first day of school 2021, President Jan, delivered school supplies from the teachers wish lists.
  • The Chuck Tison Memorial Park, near the channel gates, has recently been refurbished and ongoing maintenance will be provided by Rotary.  A place to remember those we have lost.
  • Donations to multiple non-profit organizations doing good work.
  • Donations to fire victims.
  • A dictionary for every 3rd grader in our district.
  • Hygienic air filtration system for classrooms.
  • Desks for students.
  • Support for families suffering tragic loss.
  • Rotary speech contest finalists awards.
The list does go on!  As you can see we believe in the commitment to our community!  By donating an auction item or two all of us can continue to assist our families and friends while continuing to make our community an even better place to live.

Past donations have included Cabo and Tahoe vacations, dinners, lunch cruises on the San Francisco Bay and Delta Regions, jewelry, artwork, gift baskets, hunting trips, gift certificates tools, wine and wine tours, toys, amazing spirits, sporting event seats, hotel stays, airplane and helicopter rides, play tickets, BBQ and gardening implements, local art.......and many many other great items.

In Lieu of the Typical Raffle Tickets, Direct Donations May be Made.

  • $25          provides 5 children art supplies and encourage dreaming
  • $50          keeps the internet on for 2 weeks for our children to participate with at home learning
  • $100        provides 5 - 3rd grade students their own personal dictionary
  • $250        is very close in purchasing 1 Chrome Book to replenish or replace those which are out of date
  • $500        provides 3 awards to High School students vying to show off their new found confidence or tell a good story at our 4 way speech contest
  • $1,000     provides a High School student the opportunity to attend RYLA - the 'lifechanging' Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp
  • $2,500     provides a High School student the opportunity for a Scholarship - in your name!

Walnut Grove Rotary Scholarships are Directly Funded by Our Annual Auction to Delta High School Seniors for College Scholarships:

For many years in late Spring, Walnut Grove Rotary’s Scholarship Committee has gathered at Delta High School to interview senior students for college scholarships. Prior to the interviews seniors must submit an application and write an essay describing his/her scholastic achievement, financial need, character, personal desire to better themselves, and any other information they feel makes them a worthy candidate to receive a WG Rotary scholarship. Over the years Walnut Grove Rotary has awarded a great many scholarships to public or private colleges/universities and community colleges, totaling many thousands of dollars to many students who might not otherwise have the means.
