About the Speaker:

Pictured in the image are: Miriam Oropeza, Gloria Rodriguez and Maria Rosales are keeping South County Services up and running.

Rosales said people who need help aren’t usually able to travel all the way to Sacramento for services. This makes the Galt connection so important for those in need in our area. With the help of Gloria Rodriguez and Miriam Oropeza, this small service operation travels to Walnut Grove and Isleton every week to help those in need.

“I love helping people,” Rosales said. “I grew up in Isleton where it’s very isolated – not many resources. I love working here. When I first found it, I knew I had found my passion.”

Rosales said Raley’s has been wonderful to help with food donations. The service provider depends on not only government funds but also the generosity of Galt residents.

“We accept donations of food, clothing and cash,” Rosales said. “Anything donated can be written off taxes. People can make such a big difference right here in their own community.”  Rosales wants everyone to know that their doors are still open with a brown bag program once a month for low-income seniors and the disabled, eye examinations and glasses for a low cost of only $20, and notary services.
